I've read the law about Median-Buchholz and I think that it's the sum of opponents' score ( if I misunderstand please explain it again for me) but I was very surprised when I've seen the M.Burch after each round and I was confused. May be I've misunderstand something .This essay is something I understand after reading the law about Median-Buchholz:
Median-Buchholz is same as Buchholz but but discarding the highest and the lowest opposition's scores. And Buchholz is the sum of opponents' scores . The idea is that the same score is more valuable if achieved against players with better performances in a given tournament. Looks like an ideal tie-breaking method and has been used since the Swiss system was invented. However it has some weaknesses which are addressed by other methods
Thanks for your attention.
